Based in Los Angeles, photographer Andrew Friendly makes pictures of people, places and things that resonate with a wide audience. Using dazzling light and rich color as his guides, he insists on shooting from the heart.
With a primary focus in fashion imagery, Andrew embeds his artistic sensibilities into all of his work, editorial and commercial. His artistic practice began in his early teenage years when his obsession with nature lead him to discover that a macro lens on the camera could see more than the naked eye ever would. He went on to earn his BA at USC School of Cinematic Arts where be began photographing his friends and stills for their short films. Soon he was shooting for independent fashion brands around the LA area and traveling outside the city for commissioned editorials.
Alongside his commissions, Andrew is currently working on two personal projects. "Dreamers," which he began work on in 2020, is a series of portraits that explores the melting pot of people that the Venice Boardwalk attracts. "Breakdown," which he began at the start of 2023, is an intimate study on mental health.
